East-West Seed and ImpulSemillas Host Field Days on Virus Management
East-West Seed in collaboration with ImpulSemillas, recently organized a three-day series of field days titled “Hablemos de Papaya” (“Let’s Talk About Papaya”) in southern Colombia. The initiative brought together leading papaya growers in Latin America to exchange practical knowledge on managing papaya viruses and improving crop productivity.
The sessions were led by Lizbeth Jimenez, Product Development Specialist Colombia, and Ángel G. Artiles, Area Development Manager for Andean Countries at East-West Seed. Participants observed the strong performance of East-West Seed papaya varieties in the field, noting their compact plant structure, high yield potential, excellent fruit flavor, and high Brix levels.
“Growers were very pleased with the plants’ performance,” said Artiles. “They appreciated the combination of vigor and fruit quality and are now eager to hear feedback from buyers.”
These events contribute to strengthening East-West Seed’s presence and relationships with farmers across Latin America, reinforcing the company’s commitment to helping smallholder farmers achieve higher productivity and profitability through better seeds and knowledge.
