At East-West Seed, our mission has always been to put farmers first by providing them with the best tropical vegetable seeds and the knowledge to succeed. From June 28 to July 13, 2026, our team brought this commitment to life at the Mwalimu J.K. Nyerere Trade Fair Ground during the annual Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (Saba Saba) in Tanzania.
Through a dynamic, interactive booth featuring live demonstration plots, a seed shop, and a fresh produce “taste kiosk,” we welcomed commercial farmers looking to improve their yields and livelihoods.
Seeing and Tasting, is Believing
Our live demonstration plots allowed growers to see the performance of our top-yielding varieties firsthand, including Cabbage Maya F1, and Tomato Dhahabu F1 and Imara F1. However, the real highlight for many was our taste kiosk, which proved that flavor is just as important as yield:

Crimson Red F1 (Watermelon): Visitors praised its exceptional sweetness and rich color, validating our confidence in this exciting new variety.

Sugar King F1 (Sweetcorn): Tasting sessions successfully drove immediate seed demand as farmers experienced its sweet flavor and excellent field performance.

Red Royale F1 (Papaya): This variety captured immense interest due to its grower-friendly dwarf habit, early maturity, and impressive fruit size.
A Partnership That Extends Beyond the Seed
Saba Saba also gave us a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with our loyal farming community, particularly from Tanzania’s Coastal Zone. While growers expressed deep appreciation for our high-quality seeds, their strongest praise was reserved for our post-sale agronomic support.
At East-West Seed, we believe that providing a seed is only the first step. By standing beside farmers in the field and offering continuous technical training, we help them grow better crops, secure higher incomes, and build sustainable futures.
