At East-West Seed, innovation is at the heart of how we deliver quality seeds and sustainable livelihoods for smallholder farmers. Each October, we celebrate Innovation Month, a time to recognize the ideas and improvements that help us serve smallholder farmers better and strengthen our impact across the value chain.
October also marks the birth month of our founder, Simon N. Groot, whose pioneering spirit continues to inspire us. His vision laid the foundation for our enduring mission: to empower smallholder farmers to grow better crops, earn better incomes, and build a better future for their families and communities.
Rooted in Operations, Driven by Innovation
This year’s theme, “Rooted in Operations, Driven by Innovation,” shone a spotlight on our Seed Operations teams. These are the people behind the scenes — planning, producing, and delivering the seeds that reach millions of farmers across the tropics.
Our teams across East-West Seed Thailand (EWTH) and East-West Seed Philippines (EWPH) came together to:
- Share operational breakthroughs and process improvements
- Highlight new tools and technologies in seed production
- Connect employees more deeply to the heart of our business: seeds
Through stories, onsite events, and open knowledge exchange, we saw how practical innovations — big and small — help make our systems more efficient, more reliable, and more farmer-focused.
