In 2003, East-West Seed’s hot pepper variety called Super Hot was awarded the “Best of the Best” in Thailand’s Best Innovation Awards for offering farmers better quality fruit with a yield rate 50 per cent greater than its predecessor, earlier maturity, longer shelf life, improved tolerance to disease and greater environmental adaptability.
