Farmers’ success stories motivate me to work harder
In 2012, 26-year old Marvin Martin took on a big challenge to work as Product Development Support in Tanzania after he had worked as Product Development Support for East-West Seed International and East-West Seed Philippines.

He interacts with farmers, listens to their problems and offers possible solutions. Together with the farmers, he sets up trials and selects which product or technology can help the farmers increase their yields.
“I am proud of what I do. Farmers’ appreciation and their success stories motivate me to work harder. The success cannot be achieved alone without the support from my colleagues in different departments. I learn and grow because of them. They are generous in sharing their knowledge and time,” said Marvin.
As a regular traveler in the African continent, he often encounters challenges like political unrest, visa problems, cultural differences, and unpredictable weather. But he doesn’t let it hold him back. Instead, being flexible and adaptable helps him overcome these hitches.
Marvin’s ambition is to share innovations that will develop the vegetable sector and help East-West Seed become the leading brand in East Africa.
